Trial date set for model Mingus Lucien Reedus in assault case
Model Mingus Lucien Reedus on Tuesday traded the catwalk for a Manhattan courthouse — where he’ll go to trial on charges he punched a woman during the San Gennaro Festival in Little Italy.
The towering 22-year-old son of supermodel Helena Christensen and “Walking Dead” star Norman Reedus sported a chic, shaggy haircut for his brief hearing in Manhattan Criminal Court on misdemeanor assault charges stemming from the Sept. 24 incident.
He looked editorial-ready in his slim brown tailored suit and untucked white shirt — but his defense attorney Isabelle Kirshner argued against photos of her client being taken inside the courtroom.
Mingus, who paired the look with light blue socks and brown dress shoes, briefly scrolled on his phone during the negotiations, which ended with Judge Robert Rosenthal signing off on the press just taking one photo of the model.
The jurist set the trial date in the case for Jan. 5 — the day before Mingus’ actor dad’s birthday.
The Chelsea resident was at the annual festival with his girlfriend when a woman he didn’t know claimed he struck her in the face during an argument.
The 24-year-old woman was taken to New York-Presbyterian/Lower Manhattan Hospital with a cut under her left eye, according to the NYPD.
The celebrity spawn appeared less camera-shy as he strutted out of the courthouse with his hands in his pockets, muttering what sounded like “pesky mosquitos” as photographers snapped his picture.
He didn’t comment on the charges against him, which his attorney said are “baseless.”
Mingus made his debut on the cover of Vogue Hommes just a week before the alleged assault, with his mom, an original Victoria’s Secret Angel, sharing snaps from the photo shoot on her Instagram.
