Homeless suspect arrested for attempted rape in NYC

According to police, a homeless 38-year-old man was charged with attempted rape against a Queens woman earlier in this week.

According to the NYPD, Tyrone Brown was captured just before 10 AM.

He’s charged with attempted first-degree rape, sex abuse and criminal possession of a controlled substance, police said.

Cops say Brown approached a 30-year old woman as she was walking up the street stairwell that leads to the 169th Street subway station, near Hillside Avenue in Jamaica. It happened around 6:10 a.m. Thursday.

The alleged assailant tackled the woman, put his hand under her skirt, pulled the victim’s tights down and attempted to rape her, authorities said.

A passerby saw the suspect and he fled.

Cops stated that the victim declined medical treatment.
