Djiba Kaba dead after Newark shooting leaves 3 other teens wounded
One teenager was killed and three others wounded when gunmen opened fire on their moving vehicle in Newark on Saturday night, according to law enforcement officials.
According to an Acting Essex County Prosecutor, Djiba Kama (17 years old) was killed and three others were injured in the shooting incident. The incident occurred at approximately 9 p.m.
Kaba had been driving the vehicle when he was shot, resulting in the vehicle crashing into unoccupied parked cars, a spokesperson from the prosecutor’s office told NJ.com.
Officials said that Kaba was taken to University Hospital, where he was declared dead at 9:41 pm. All other victims received non-life-threatening injuries at University Hospital.
At 9 PM on Sunday night, no arrests were made.
The shooting is being investigated by the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide and Major Crimes Task Force, which includes detectives from the Newark Police Department.
