‘Celebrity Wheel of Fortune’ Fans Left ‘Heartbroken’ After Jason Mraz Loses $1 Million Puzzle
It was the beginning of a million-dollar heartbreak Celebrity Wheel of Fortune We are here. After last night’s episode of the game show, fans were devastated to watch singer Jason Mraz lose the top prize — $1 million — for his charity, True Colors United. Melissa Joan Hart, the original host of The Game Show, was first to make this mistake. Celebrity Wheel of Fortune Just weeks ago, Mraz became the first player to win $1,000,000 for charity. This is show history. Mraz’s final puzzle proved to be extremely difficult, and fans wanted more.
Mraz played against Michelle Trachtenberg, Vivica Fox and Vivica Fowler last night. But he dominated the contest the whole hour he was there. In the first half of the game, Mraz won a heary $85,000 for his charity — and there was still half of the show left to go!
“Y’all @jazon_mraz is playing celebrity @WheelofFortune on @abc right now like he practiced for this moment with his grandma every night since pre-school,” one fan celebrated. “Dude has $60k already and the show has 40 more minutes.”
Mraz won the bonus round in the second episode. It was an intense race. With a shot at $1 million, Mraz had to solve a puzzle with the clue “in the kitchen.” The clue, which had two words read “_ R _ _ N _ E _ _ N.” Mraz fired away guesses, even snagging the second word “pan,” but couldn’t get the write answer: “BROWNIE PAN.”
After his loss, host Pat Sajak had to reveal the heartbreaking news that was inside the cash envelope: “You know, you open these things up for good things, and then you have to show this,” he said, revealing the prize would have been $1 million. The player’s pain quickly became a social problem.
“If I was Jason Mraz, I’d have an irrational hatred of brownie pans for the rest of my life,” one user tweeted, adding the parenthetical, “That was an impossible puzzle, I do not blame him at all for not getting it.”
Still, Mraz’s final total was nothing to sneeze at. Mraz raised over $130,000 for True Colors Unite charity, which focuses on LGBTQ+ youth.
