Decaying bodies found in Bronx apartment after neighbor sees maggots

Police and other sources confirmed that the badly decayed bodies of a woman and a man were found in her Bronx apartment after a neighbor saw maggots fall from her ceiling.

A firearm was discovered next to the dead 40-year-old man inside the apartment at 2390 Creston Ave. — and investigators are looking into the possibility the two died by murder-suicide, according to sources.

Police were conducting a wellness check on a neighbour when they saw the horrifying scene.

The woman, 29, was found on the couch and the man’s body was near her on the floor, cops said.

Sources suggest that investigators suspect the pair have been missing for as long as two weeks.

One resident claimed that they heard gunshots from their building at this time. But they didn’t report it to the police. Sources confirmed.

It was unclear at first what the relationship was between man and wife.

Their causes of death will be determined by an autopsy.

Two recent domestic complaints reported to police — one from August and another in September — were linked to the address where the bodies were found Saturday, sources said.
