Tavares said he has so far enjoyed the amenities that Long Island offers.

“I love living here; there’s always so much to do,” he said. “Playing here is fantastic, so I’m excited for the future of Long Island.”

Although the future of Long Island’s only professional sports team is uncertain, Tavares said he’s looking forward to living here and seeing what lies ahead for the area.

Despite only being here a short time, he’s already a fan of the restaurants on Long Island.

“I love eating here; it’s my favorite part of New York,” said Tavares. “It’s a great place to be.”
