Hofstra debate attracts diverse crowd to Hempstead

Debates are often referred to as political theater. Like good theater, the Hofstra presidential debate had a colorfully diverse cast.

The entire university buzzed, with members of the media, historical re-enactors, a wide range of security and even protesters.

The following is a sampling of those who came to Hempstead to play out all the roles that make up a democracy.
