The Long Island Auto Show, held Oct. 14-16 at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, was the destination for many Long Islanders to check out more than 150 new 2012 models.

The auto show featured an expansive display of vehicles, from Ferrari and Maserati, to Toyota and Ford, and everything from plug-in hybrids to the hottest new coupes and crossovers.

Entry into the show was free. For the first time ever the show exhibited the “40+ Miles Per Gallon Club,” featuring vehicles that offer the fuel-saving advantage and capability of reaching 40 miles (or more) per gallon on the highway.

Sunday was ‘Kids Day’ at the auto show. Children of all ages browsed vehicles with their families and took their turns sitting behind the wheel.
