Why can’t we just get along? Police and journalists in Hofstra discussion

With confrontations between police and media photographers gaining a lot of attention over the last several months, Hofstra University’s Society of Professional Journalists chapter hosted a session called “Police and Journalists:  Why Can’t We Just Get Along?” Wednesday night.  The public information officer from the Nassau County Police Department told students and faculty that sometimes police are reacting emotionally when they have to deal with tragic situations.
